TBO is a small Reform congregation with a growing membership. Three families started our congregation in 1979 to create a Reform presence in Edmonton. Originally, Shabbat services were held twice a month in people’s homes. The congregation quickly outgrew the walls of the living room and found a home in the Jewish Community Centre.
We are committed to egalitarianism and encourage involvement from people of all ages and we also welcome members from interfaith families.
About Reform Judaism
Reform Judaism traces its roots back to the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe, although its greatest growth has been in North America since the 1800s. Reform Judaism endorses the principle of informed choice. We believe that learning and making choices about worship are integral to Jewish worship and we encourage healthy discussion and debate.
