A few days ago the peace of Shabbat was shattered at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Or L’Simcha synagogue
as a gunman stormed into the shul during services and murdered 11 worshippers.
His heinous crime has left us devastated, but we are comforted by the many expressions
of unwavering support that the Jewish community has received from around the world.
In the aftermath of the attack, the Jewish Federations of North America have called for a Solidarity Shabbat.
Organizations around North America are calling for both Jews and nonJews to go to services this Shabbat in
solidarity with the Jewish community of Pittsburgh.
Temple Beth Ora is participating in this important initiative. We urge you to stand with Pittsburgh.
Show that you will not be deterred by hate. Go to shul this Shabbat. Invite a friend, or neighbor, Jew, or non-Jew.
This Shabbat is for Pittsburgh.
