About the event
With a brief introduction to the field of linguistics and its approach to human languages, I will talk about the history of Hebrew and related languages (Aramaic, Arabic), and examine some of the phonological patterns of Modern Hebrew which show that history, with digressions on Yiddish, Ladino and Judeo-Arabic.
